FOCUS Skills

The acronym “FOCUS” stands for the five basic elements for visual design and each element carries three underlying principles from which I chose to show examples for.

Formulate a Plan – Message Audience Sketches

Organize the Layout – Shape Proximity Alignment

Contrast the Elements- Asymmetry Value Color

Unify the Parts- Reputation Rhythm Gestalt

Simplify the Message- Evaluation Elimination Communication

Twitch Product Label Project

Twitch Interactive, another subsidiary of Amazon, is a game streaming site, and I designed a new product label as part of my Company Plan Project. I also had to come up with a new product to label so I opted for a product that would be used for streaming and with a round cross section to produce a label that wraps around it. I chose a microphone, so the GMP Pro streaming mic doesn’t exist, but in this case it does.

Company Plan Project

In today’s project, we are designing a new company plan for Amazon and a couple of its subsidiaries, assigning projects of a new home page, newsletter, company flag, product label and company video etc. I first wrote out an overview, then made a sketch, and finally edited and designed a brand new company plan shown below!
